Empowering Jaffna’s Water Future: Vibhawa’s Electrical Triumph in a One-of-a-kind Project.
Vibhawa Consultants successfully completed testing and commissioning of the electrical system for the innovative 24 million litres per day Jaffna Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) Desalination Plant in Thalayadi, Jaffna District—the first of its kind in Sri Lanka. This monumental project is designed to provide safe drinking water to over 300,000 people in the North.
As the Independent Testing and Commissioning Consultants, Our Key Achievements were:
– Testing and commissioning of the entire electrical infrastructure
– Expertise in medium voltage (33kV) and low voltage systems
– Carrying out a protection coordination study for the project using ETAP
– Adherence to international standards
– Provision of Chartered Engineer Certification to obtain the grid electricity connection
– Substantial contribution to the project’s overall success
Vibhawa carried out the MV & LV testing & commissioning on behalf of the main Electrical Contractor – IIAL : Illukkumbura Industrial Automation Pvt Ltd.
